England’s Finest. The Original Cheese needs no introduction. It is a classic variety, a homegrown English strain that has brought a new meaning to the word pungent.
Originally developed in the UK in the 1980s, Cheese had a brief ride around the Amsterdam coffeeshop scene before the Super Skunk invasion. It went away but returned in the 1990s, widely believed to have been developed by Exodus a legendary UK collective famed for their underground parties.
You’ll notice that we name ours, Original Cheese (IBL), because that’s what it is. In 2003, through good fortune and the generosity of a red eyed acquaintance in London, we negotiated ourselves an original female Cheese clone. We intended to cross it with other varieties, but at the end of the day this is one classic that deserves to be preserved in its purest form.
The line is strong with this one. From the original clone we have bred a plant that retained all its best qualities, with the added benefits of boosted stability, more potency and yield potential. As the grower would expect, this is a plant that consistently performs delivering a product that is unmistakable in smell and taste.
Part of the popularity of the cheese strain is its adaptability, providing consistency when growing indoor or outdoor. Expect this plant to yield big, with chunky buds that reach parts other skunks can’t.
As for the effect, once you have learnt to love that pungent aroma, you will be back for more. The Original Cheese is full power. It will reach out and grab you, ready or not, so make sure your tasks are done, that phone call to grandma has been dealt with and the cat has been fed!

Original Cheese feminized Seeds
The Cheese marijuana seeds lineage was originated in England, as it was developed there during the 1980s. Before the Super Skunk boom, the Original Cheese variety was a big hit in Dutch coffeeshops. For a few years, this original strain remained missed, until the 1990s, when it was rescued by Exodus, a legendary English cannabis collective.
What is Original Cheese like?
The legendary Original Cheese strain fell in the Paradise Seeds breeders in the year 2003, when they were able to get a clone of this original variety. Although Paradise Seeds initially intended to combine the Original Cheese with new strains, they eventually decided to improve the original line in its purest form with all its original properties intact.
Paradise Seeds’ feminised Original Cheese seed is a 50% stable hybrid, so it has characteristics typical of both Cannabis sub-genres. It is a medium-sized, strong plant that does not present any special complications during growing. Paradise Seeds have managed to increase the stability and capacity to produce cannabinoids from the original Cheese.
The Original Cheese strain has a short flowering stage, it takes only 56 days. Therefore, there are no problems when growing it in short summers climates, as it originally comes from the United Kingdom. Outdoors, the harvesting arrives in 1 or 2 weeks after the day the summer ends.
Original Cheese Production
Original Cheese seeds promise the expected yields of a high quality strain. This way, it has XXL productions by producing up to 600 grams per square meter indoors. Outdoors, on the other hand, this seed can produce more than 500 grams of flowers per plant.
Most common effects
The original Cheese strain can have a high THC concentration ranging from 16% to 20%. Its equal parts Sativa/Indica cross makes the effects balanced between physical and mental, also between energizing and relaxing. First, more s timulating effects are felt and then the typical Indica relaxation appear.
Organoleptic properties
The aroma of the Original Cheese variety is one of the most appreciated for its complexity. It gives off a kind of cheese aroma, so characteristic of Cheese varieties. Skunk notes can also be appreciated.
